“Metalist 1925” – “Qarabağ” – 5:4

Our team played its first friendly match during the training camp held in Austria. Gurban Gurbanov's men faced the Ukrainian side “Metalist 1925.”

Our team started the match with the following lineup: 99. Mateusz Kochalski, 2. Mateus Silva, 81. Kevin Medina, 27. Toral Bayramov, 18. Dani Bolt, 35. Pedro Bicalho, 8. Marko Janković, 20. Kady Borges, 10. Abdellah Zoubir (c), 15. Leandro Andrade, 20. Nariman Akhundzade.

By agreement between the clubs, the match was played in four 30-minute periods. In the first half-hour, both teams scored twice. For our team, Nariman Akhundzade scored a brace in the 3rd and 13th minutes. The opponent scored one goal in the second period and two more in the third.

The final period was dominated by our team. As a result, the Ukrainian side had to restart from the center twice more. In the 96th minute, Aleksey Kashchuk scored, and in the 114th minute, Emmanuel Addai converted a penalty. Although our team pressed hard for an equalizer in the remaining minutes, it could not be achieved. As a result, in a match that featured 9 goals, “Metalist 1925” emerged victorious with a 5:4 scoreline.

It should be noted that our team will play two friendly matches against Dutch club “Twente” on July 11. The matches will kick off at 17:00 and 19:15 Baku time.
