Gurban Gurbanov: “I believe in my players”

Press conference ahead of Liverpool – Qarabağ match

Before the UEFA Champions League Group Stage Round VIII match Liverpool – Qarabağ, our team’s head coach Gurban Gurbanov and midfielder Marko Janković held a press conference. The experienced coach shared his thoughts on the upcoming game:

"We are heading into our final match of the group stage, and we are preparing for this game. We will face a team with a unique style, in a magnificent stadium with amazing supporters. Players in this team are always highly motivated. We want to put on a good performance and fight hard. I trust my players, and I believe they will try to show their best tomorrow. We will aim to play disciplined and strong until the very end. This is a stadium and an opponent where we need to focus entirely on this match. We have analyzed the opponent—they play at this level in at least 50-60 matches a year. I don’t expect them to give many gaps. We will try to build our attacks as we have prepared and planned. It is very important to handle the ball with discipline."

Janković also shared his expectations for the match:

"As our coach said, we will play in one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world against a strong team. It is an honor for us, and we are happy to be here. We hope to show a good performance tomorrow. Of course, we have respect for the opponent. They are playing at home, and we are the visitors. We hope for a successful result in tomorrow’s match."
