Gurban Gurbanov: “We will fight until the end”

After Matchday 23 of the Azerbaijan Premier League, following the Qarabağ FK – Araz-Naxçıvan PFK match (6:0), our head coach Gurban Gurbanov held a press conference and shared his thoughts on the game:

“Today, there were a significant number of female fans in the stadium. I want to thank them and every fan who came to the match. Today is a day to celebrate women. I wish each of them health, long life, and happiness. We had a good game, both high-scoring and with well-constructed attacks. What we practiced and prepared in training was visible on the pitch, which was very important. Today gave me confidence that my players are starting to regain their form. That said, there were moments I was not satisfied with. After the match, I shared my feedback with the players so that we can improve. I believe that after a few games, we will be fully back in shape. I also wish Araz-Naxçıvan PFK success.”

Our head coach also touched on the championship and cup competitions: “Sabah FK currently have the advantage. They have built a very good team and are showing solid performances. We will fight until the end. We need to improve our players’ physical condition in the coming days. The cup is different, the league is different. Every player approaches these competitions differently. The cup has a different prestige. Facing such a team in both the league and the cup, regardless of the result, will serve as excellent preparation for European competitions for both us and Sabah FK. Having three matches against a team of this level will be beneficial for both sides and will provide great confidence.”
