"It felt great to return with a victory"

Following the Qarabağ – Sumgayit (2:0) match in the 33rd round of the Misli Premier League, our team’s head coach Gurban Gurbanov held a press conference. The experienced specialist shared his thoughts on the match:

"I congratulate my players. Due to certain reasons, we hadn’t played in this stadium for a long time. It felt great to return with a victory. We faced a determined opponent who stayed in the game and didn’t want to lose. They played bravely until the end. The match could have been more entertaining, but we witnessed a hard-fought game throughout the 90 minutes. I think it was a good match."

The head coach also commented on the performance of 15-year-old defender Amin Rzayev, who came on in the second half: “Amin has been with us for quite some time; we regularly include him in our training sessions. He’s still young and cannot yet handle maximum physical load. Nevertheless, he is a promising player. He needs time to develop. His future will depend largely on himself. Amin’s favorite position is left-back, but the fact that he can play in both full-back positions is a great advantage. We’ll try to give him more opportunities in upcoming matches whenever possible. Our doors are always open to young players. It’s up to them to prove themselves.”
