Joni Montiel on the Champions League squad list

There has been a change in our team’s UEFA Champions League League Stage squad list. Joni Montiel has been added to Qarabağ’s roster.

The Spanish midfielder replaces Kadi Borges, who was injured during the Champions League match against Chelsea (2:2). The Brazilian player will be sidelined for a long period and will not be able to play in 2025, with an expected absence of 8–10 weeks. Montiel has been registered as his replacement.

This change was made possible thanks to a new rule added to the UEFA Champions League regulations this season, which allows clubs to replace players who are out for a long time due to injury.

It should be noted that Qarabağ, having collected 7 points in the first four rounds, will play its next match away against Napoli on November 25.
