Juve Win!



At the San Siro in Milan, Juventus amazingly defeated Milan 1-0. The winning goal was scored by David Trezeguet, playing because of the suspension of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Despite Milan captain Paolo Maldini declaring prior to the match that a victory by either side would not determine the winner of this season’s Scudetto, these valuable three points so close to the end of the campaign (only three matches remain) will obviously give Juve the upper hand in the title chase. Juventus are now all alone in top spot, with Milan dropping to second place. Last weekend saw numerous goals scored, and the match between home side Livorno and Siena continued this recent trend, with Siena prevailing 6-3. Stefano Argilli grabbed the lead for the visitors a quarter of an hour in. It became even more difficult for Livorno three minutes later, as Fabio Galante received a straight red card. Cristiano Lucarelli, who scored four times last weekend, leveled the match on a penalty kick in the 36th minute. Enrico Chiesa immediately replied for Siena in the 38th to regain the lead. Simone Vergassola doubled the advantage in the 53rd, but Lucarelli got his second in the 55th. Vergassola then scored his second of the match in the 60th, and Massimo Maccarone began the rout in the 62nd. Corrado Colombo pulled one back in the 73rd minute, but Maccarone finished the scoring in the 81st. Siena remain in sixteenth place in the table, but Livorno move down to ninth. Parma achieved a big win in the relegation battle with their home win over Roma, by a score of 2-1. Antonio Cassano took the lead for Roma in just the 3rd minute. Domenico Morfeo leveled in the 63rd, and Alberto Gilardino scored the winner for Parma on a penalty in the 79th. Parma keep themselves in fifteenth place, and Roma continue their downward spiral to fourteenth. ...
