“Our players did their best to win”

Following Qarabağ’s 3:1 away victory against Ferencváros (Hungary) in the first leg of the Champions League play-off round, our head coach Gurban Gurbanov shared his thoughts at the post-match press conference:

“I congratulate my players. Despite such a tense match in front of so many fans, they endured until the end and did their best to win. I want to thank our Azerbaijani supporters who did not leave us alone. The atmosphere in the stadium was fantastic. Even though we had the advantage, the scoreline should not deceive us. We must be more serious and focused in the return match in Baku because our opponent has players capable of scoring out of nothing. This is the Champions League. We are facing a very ambitious opponent and a head coach who does not like to lose. We will try to make the most of our chances.”
