Qarabağ in the final!

Qarabağ has played their next match, taking part in the second leg of the Azerbaijan Cup semi-finals.

Qurban Qurbanov’s team hosted Araz-Nakhchivan. The match took place at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. Our team lined up with the following players: 99. Mateusz Kochalski, 13. Bahlul Mustafazade, 44. Elvin Jafarguliyev, 27. Toral Bayramov, 90. Nariman Akhundzade, 10. Abdellah Zoubir (c), 7. Yassine Benzia, 8. Marko Jankovic, 9. Kady Borges, 2. Mateus Silva, 15. Leandro Andrade.

The game began with mutual attacks. From the first minutes, both teams tried to control possession. A few dangerous attacks were launched by both the home and the away teams, but thanks to error-free performances by the defenders and goalkeepers, no goals were scored. From the middle of the first half, our players fully took the initiative, but the tight defense of the opponent could not be broken before halftime.

The second half was dominated by our team. As a result, our players scored 3 unanswered goals. With a 3:0 victory, our team made up for the 0:1 loss in the first leg and advanced to the final of the Azerbaijan Cup.

It should be noted that our opponent in the final will be the winner of the “Sabah” – “Neftchi” match. The decisive clash will be held on May 31 at the Mehdi Huseynzade Stadium in Sumgayit.
