SVEN DOESNT WANT SUCCESSOR AT WORLD CUP

Sven-Goran Eriksson has told the Football Association that he doesnt want his successor to work alongside him at this summers World Cup. The Swede is stepping down as England manager after the finals in Germany this summer and it is expected that the man who will replace him will be decided before then. However, Eriksson is not keen on the suggestion of the new manager shadowing him in the role during the competition. Eriksson told The Sun: "I made it totally clear to the FA I dont want to go into the World Cup with two national coaches. "This might be my last World Cup and I want it to be done my way." Martin ONeill, Stuart Pearce and Sam Allardyce have all been strongly linked with the post, but Eriksson wont be getting involved in the decision making process. "Ive told the FA it is totally up to them to find my replacement," said Eriksson. "The last thing I want is to be accused of helping them find someone who might not be up to the job."
